Over the summer, we updated a quaint home located in Ocean Pines, Maryland. It recently sold, and we hope the new owners will love it for years to come. As with most home renovation projects, we discovered some issues at the start. It was discovered the crawl space needed some attention. The entire area was outfitted with a plastic vapor barrier to prevent the home’s structure from being impacted by moisture which is often an issue in Ocean Pines thanks in large part to the pine trees found throughout the neighborhood. We also added a dehumidifier to keep the moisture level low and prevent mold and mildew from forming.
The entire house received a fresh coat of Sherwin Williams’ zero VOC paint. Their paint provides our customers with a durable option that hides imperfections and contains anti-microbial agents which inhibit the growth of mold and mildew on the paint surface. The living area was updated after tearing out the old flooring and replacing it with new LifeProof plank flooring. Life proof flooring is 100% waterproof and its planks contain a rigid PVC core and a durable wear layer, perfect for high traffic areas. The kitchen was updated with Wolf Classic cabinetry and new backsplash. The Wolf cabinet line features dovetail drawer construction and soft close doors and drawers.
The bedrooms were outfitted with new Shaw carpet and new ceiling fans. The bathrooms got an update with new LifeProof porcelain tile. This tile is durable, resistant to abrasion, and has a low water absorption rate. Tempered safety glass shower doors by Delta were added to the bathrooms to provide years of use and easy cleaning. Moen faucets and bathroom fixtures replaced the old, leaky fixtures.
The front and back porch also received a facelift with fresh outdoor paint by Sherwin Williams. The old roof was replaced with GAF Timberline HD shingles. These shingles utilize some of the most advanced design, manufacturing, and testing techniques available in any industry (including test models similar to those used in America’s space program). These shingles will offer the homeowners peace of mind knowing their roof offers toughness, wind uplift resistance, fire resistance, and flexibility. We wish the new owners many years of enjoyment in their new home.
